How to keep Passover as a Christian

Hi All. This is a short presentation below that I have put together on keeping Passover as a Christian.

This will be my third year observing the feasts. I still remember in 2020, just before Passover started, how I had heard the Lord tell me to mark my calendar and that He wanted me to celebrate His biblical feasts.

Celebrating the biblical feasts has greatly increased my walk with Yahweh. I love celebrating the Lord and I have learned so much from observing them.

I believe this is certainly an appointed time to spend with God, hear from Him and continue to grow in Him.

I also did some research into the Seder meal, but usually, I just do a Passover meal with communion. You can also do some research on the Seder meal with the four cups and decide if you would like to keep it that way.

Also important to note that on the day of Passover you also start eating unleavened bread and prior to this day you would have already started to give away or put away the leavened bread or any rising agents used for cooking from your house. It’s understandable that we may stay in a household where not everyone celebrates the feasts, but then go as the Lord leads you. Take out the leaven from your room at least.

But most importantly for me, it’s also about the spiritual leaven and getting rid of things that spiritually hinder us.

For more ways on keeping the Passover, I recommend you watch these videos on YT:

You can also visit http://www.messianicsabbath.com for the biblical feast calendar for additional information on the feasts. The Passover is not treated as a Sabbath or Holy Convocation day. But rather the first day and seventh day of Unleavened bread which starts on the 15th April at sunset.

May you have a blessed upcoming #Passover /#Pesach ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Happy New Moon / Rosh Chodesh Nisan

Happy Rosh Chodesh๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰!! Happy New Moon! It’s also Sabbath today , so Happy Sabbath โคโคโค

This marks the start of a new year, Nisan/Aviv/Abib. I’m very thankful to YHWH for the past month and year, and I really appreciate even the smallest things Abba has been helping me with to the greater things too! All Glory to God, He is a good Father, He is so merciful and wonderful. Let us EXALT and PRAISE Him ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—โคโค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™.

I am really looking forward to Passover, Unleavened bread and the feast of First fruits this month. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

The new moon is not commanded to be observed, however it does mark the beginning of months and helps us determine the biblical feast days. We are however commanded to blow trumpets to signal the beginning of a new month.

Numbers 10-10 : 10 “And in the days of your gladness, and in your feasts, and in your new moons, ye shall sound with the trumpets at your whole-burnt-offerings, and at the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and there shall be a memorial for you before your God: I [am] the Lord your God.โ€

Psalm 81- 3 to 4: 3ย Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.ย 4ย For [this] is an ordinance for Israel, and a statute of the God of Jacob.โ€

Isaiah 66:23 KJV โ€” And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Ezekiel 46:1 KJV โ€” Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

May you have a blessed day ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Celebrating Purim as a Christian

This year I have decided to observe the feast of Purim ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰. I did some research on how Christians can observe Purim and how it is relevant to us as the body of Christ. This feast however, is not a mandatory biblical feast.

As Christians, we can learn a lot about Godโ€™s plan of redemption by becoming familiar with the observance of Purim.

Paul tells us through the Christians at Corinth that what we see with the eye and what is really happening are two different things. โ€œThings are not what they would seemโ€ is a central theme in the Book of Esther.ย

Purim is the Biblical holiday that was initiated by and commemorates the events recorded in the book of Esther. The holiday comes in the final month of the Hebrew calendar.

Events happen by apparent coincidence; however, God is at work behind the scenes. Here are a few of the coincidental events in the Book of Esther:

  1. Esther, a Jew, just happens to be chosen as queen from hundreds of candidates.
  2. Mordechai, Estherโ€™s uncle, just happens to find out about a conspiracy against the King and reports it; and it just happens that nothing is done, at that time, to recognize his good deed.
  3. After Haman has a gallows built on which to hang Mordechai, he approaches the King to ask for permission to execute Mordechai; it just happens that the King had been unable to sleep the night before and had the royal records read to him that tell about Mordechaiโ€™s action on behalf of the King. It just happens that at the very moment that Haman seeks to destroy Mordechai that the King is seeking to honor Mordechai.ย

Reading through the Book of Esther you will find other โ€œcoincidences.โ€ In fact, the name Purim, refers to the โ€œlotsโ€ that were cast to determine on which day Haman would act to destroy the Jewish people. Lots can be thought of as the modern dice.

By celebrating this Biblical festival โ€“ the beginning of understanding anything is to do it โ€“ we will more clearly see the hidden nature of Godโ€™s work during these last days and be in a better position to proclaim His actions to the people around us who are around and who are unaware of His hidden but glorious work of redemption. Indeed, things are not as they would seem. The darkness of our times, visible to everyone, will not succeed in destroying Godโ€™s people. Instead, God is working behind the scenes, just as He did in the story of Esther, to accomplish a great redemption and to save His people from the hand of the one seeking to destroy us.
